CS Faculty/Staff Team wins Top Department Team at UTSA Diploma Dash 5K 2019

UTSA Diploma Dash Trophy

On Saturday February 23rd, the Department of Computer Science faculty and staff team - the Cyber Dashers - won top department team at UTSA's 35th annual Diploma Dash City Championship 5k. Diploma Dash brings UTSA students, alumni, community members and even some canine runners together to participate in a certified 5K race around Main Campus.

Diploma Dash is open to all individuals, friends, families and teams with 14 age categories. Categories include Masters, Team Challenges, UTSA students, UTSA departments and ROTC students. Scores of the five team members are averaged to determine the winner. All Team Challenge members are age and gender graded for final ranking.

The Cyber Dashers received an commemorative trophy, currently on display in the department front office (NPB 3.108-A) as well as medals for each individual team member with the UTSA 50th anniversary logo featured on the back.

For the past three years, the Department of Computer Science faculty and staff invite their family and friends to form a team to participate in the annual race around the Main Campus. This is the first year that the Cyber Dashers have won the department team award, as well as the pet team members placing 1st and 2nd place in the dog racing category.
